On here we will keep you up to date with all the fantastic things the children are doing to make our school a better place.
Our School Council members have a very important role within our school. They are the voice of the pupils and help to make changes in our school!
Two representatives are chosen from each of the KS2 classes. The children nominate themselves and an election takes place where they are chosen by their classmates.
The School Council will be in the hall on the first Monday of each Half Term. We will be gathering pupil voice around a question or idea.
In Autumn One we are thinking about the clubs available during lunch times.
In Autumn Two we are thinking about the Christmas Fair.
This half term the School Council are gathering ideas about the Christmas Fair! We have shared these ideas with Mrs Blackburn who is helping us put some of them into action.
Children from across the school gave us lots of ideas, including: Hot Chocolate, Face Paint/Tattoos, Lucky Dip and lots of game suggestions.
The School Council will be adding Christmas temporary tattoos and a lucky dip to their stall.
Hot chocolate will be available on the refreshments stall.
They will be selling raffle tickets for the fair over the coming weeks.
As part of Kindness Week, The School Council were busy looking out for acts of kindness across the school. They collected tokens for every act they saw or someone shared with them. Even visitors added a token telling us that they were welcomed and treated with kindness. The School Council were pleased to completely fill the jar by the end of the day on Friday!
Our School Council have made such a difference to our playtimes. They gather children's ideas and have purchased lots of playground games. They held an assembly to discuss caring for our new equipment and the feedback from children was fabulous!
This half term The School Council gathered pupil voice and then met the following week to discuss and plan their actions for the half term.
Many children had mentioned the lack of toys, different ball games and requested longer length skipping ropes!
The School Council purchased new 5m skipping ropes for group skipping, new catch games, frisbees and tennis rackets and tennis balls for both playgrounds.
These were shared with the rest of the school in an assembly and The School Council will check in and gather feedback over the coming weeks.
The School Council organised an Easter Bonnet and Easter Scene Competition. the entries were amazing! Thank you to all who entered and made the judging process such a hard task!
Although children reported feeling safe in school and knew who they could talk to, the School Council decided to place worry boxes in all classrooms. Children can ask a question or just their name so that the teacher can make sure they spend a few minutes talking to them.
