-Pick up and drop off points are on zone 5 at 8:50 and 3:20.

-PE day is on a Tuesday and Thursday. You can come into school in your PE kit or some other suitable sports clothes.
- Spellings are handed out every Monday. Children can practise them at home on Spelling Shed.
-Homework for learning done over the week is handed out either on paper or on Seesaw (app) on Thursdays. Any technological issues or if you require your log in code for Seesaw, let me know and I will be happy to help!
-Bring a water bottle into school every day to stay hydrated.

Let's have a cracking year!
We dissected plants (tulips) to identify the different parts of a plant that are critical to re-production.
A snapshot of Year 5 measuring, recording and converting volume of water in Maths.
Year 5 explored a variety of materials to help them formulate an idea of how to build their motorised car next week.
We have been investigating different kind of forces this term. Here are some action shots from an afternoon where we tested water resistance against different shapes.
7.2.2022 - Today we introduced the 5 Wells and started with 'Be Active'. We played three fun, enjoyable games (balloon volleyball, quick ping pong & jumping rock, paper, scissors). We discussed what we do currently to be active, what goal we could set and the many benefits it gives.
8.2.2022 - Connect - We discussed how we connect with others and how else we can try connecting going forward. We discussed what connecting with people feels like and why it is important to do so.
We played two games: a game of 'Would you Rather...' & web connections, where we indentified connections with others in our class.
Today we painted our planets with our mixed ready-made paints. They look amazing! Good job Year 5.
We have spent two afternoons manipulating and sculpting things you'd find on a planet's surface using mod-roc to create our own planet. We now just need to paint them. Stay tuned!
Year 5 have had a belting afternoon separating mixtures with different methods of separation. These included sand with water, raisons and flour, water and salt & pins & rice.
Year 5 had a cracking afternoon learning about Fairtrade and the benefits it provides. We tasted some Fairtrade products.
Coffee produced the loudest 'ews' and the funniest faces.
We've created some posters to put around school to bring the rest of the school to an awareness of the different options they could choose when shopping.
Here is one of the many activities we did this week for Maths Week England. We were creating optical illusions with basic 2D shapes through drawing and measuring.
Year 5 had a lovely day learning about the Great War and the reasons why we celebrate remembrance day. A highlight was certainly these beautiful poppies that we made.
Lest We Forget
We have come to the end of our first RE topic, which was all about our God-given talents and qualities. All the children worked hard to plan and carry out our prayer service. It was a lovely time for reflection and appreciation!
