Pupil and family wellbeing

We understand that life isn’t always easy and that every family can face challenges from time to time. At OLPS, we are here to support not just our children, but our families too. Our aim is to provide caring, wraparound support so that every child can grow up feeling happy, safe and able to succeed.

Miss Murphy is our Pupil and Family Wellbeing Co-ordinator. She works closely with children, families and a wide range of services across Blackburn with Darwen to make sure the right support is in place when it’s needed.

Support can come in many different forms — from helping families access the foodbank, supporting children who may be feeling anxious, to offering guidance around budgeting, routines or family life. Some services can be accessed through school, while others can be accessed directly by families when needed.

We are more than just a school — we are a community. We are here to listen, to help and to support every step of the way.

Miss Murphy can be contacted through school and is on the playground at the beginning and end of the day about any worries or question you may have.
