Aims and Intent

Vision and Intent

At OLPS we want to provide our children with broad and in-depth knowledge of significant civilisations and people which fosters a sense of intrigue and natural enquiry.  We want to inspire and encourage our children to be curious, ask questions and form valid judgments about British and world history.

We want our children to have a sense of understanding of why and how the world is like it is today from significant events and to understand how their actions will impact and change future history.

We want our children to develop and use practical and useful skills to explore the world around them to gain a greater understanding, effectively find things out and communicate their findings effectively and creatively.

The History curriculum is designed to develop knowledge and skills that are progressive, as well as transferable, throughout their time at OLPS and also to their further education and beyond.
