World Book Day Celebrations.

We had a lovely World Book Day celebration today. the children and staff looked amazing!

We began the day with a whole school assembly linked to the 'National Year of Reading' with the theme 'Go All In' thinking about what fun means, what a hobby is and how reading could become a hobby or how we could read about our hobbies.

Our day consisted of so many different activities in order to dedicate time to finding a book of interest and making reading enjoyable!

Each child signed up to a blurb of a book which was then read in small chunks by the adult in school who chose it.

We had reading buddies, reading cafes, made bookmarks, visited our school library and took part in reading quizzes.

We ended the day with parents in school to share a 'bedtime' story with us, just as how we end every school day.

All of our children pre-ordered the World Book Day book of their choice which was given to them to take home and keep!
